So, it’s totally OK to steal the Alumni Association tagline for a blog post, right?
In all seriousness, already the best part of the bus has been reconnecting with Cyclone friends and family who we either don’t talk to as frequently as we’d like to or who we’ve lost touch with, and even meeting new Cyclone fans. (Bill, the original owner of the Cyclone Bus, was a Cyclone fan and was excited to hear about our plans for the bus. Dave promised to send pics from our first game.)
Shortly after we announced our purchase and plans, my Aunt Mary Ann saw a post for a lot of Iowa State tailgating equipment (again on Facebook Marketplace) and tagged us in the for-sale listing. The set included a nine-foot, Iowa State-branded tent, three branded side panels for the tent, two folding chairs and a folding side table. The only trick is my aunt lives in southwest Iowa and we’re of course in Minnesota.

Using the first site I could find that lists all of these (Logo Brands) I estimated the setup is work $480. Knowing what a good deal it could be, I messaged and our new Cyclone friend Kevin to see if he was willing to include delivery to my aunt’s home, which was still about 20 minutes from his location. I quick sent down a check for our agreed on price of $350 and my aunt was so kind to handle meet up and everything else. I think we owe this lady a drink or two under the shade of a tent this fall!
