If businesses can have a “Soft Opening,” why not Cyclone fans? We thought we were ready for football season to start, but we couldn’t have predicted the outcome of the day. After a rough Friday from the farm toward Ames, we were ready to relax and have some fun. The Cyclones had other plans. The season opener against UNI went into triple overtime. At one point my Apple watch told me my heart rate was high!

Even though the team won by one point, it didn’t feel like the hyped-up win we were hoping for. Regardless, we were happy to be back at Jack Trice, enjoying popcorn and shaved ice, cheering at the top of our lungs, and spending time as a family. Mom brought Grandma Hall’s prized cinnamon rolls. So good! Ranger Boppa’s biggest fan! Family friend #29 got some great game time. We were anxiously watching this exchange that fizzled out quickly. That’s a wrap. Let’s get those batteries recharged! ?
