Game 4: Texas Tech — bus arrival 7:45 a.m., kickoff 11 a.m.
Breakfast
Another 11 a.m. game but dang it we finally parked in G7! Our friends Andrew and Sarah made a slow-cooker egg bake the night before and we added a bunch of ready-made items to round out breakfast: yogurt, premade croissants, squeeze jelly and mixed fruit.

Late Lunch/Early Dinner
After the game, we kept it simple and had premade burgers and hot dogs and brats. I also brought a mini cast iron skillet and heated up some Buffalo Chicken Skillet Dip from Pillsbury. This five-ingredient dip is just the right level of spice and tastes great on tortilla chips or sticks of celery.
Drinks!
I will say the star of the show was the hot beverages I planned, anticipating a cooler fall day. I had a standard thermal coffee server that Andy filled with hot water before we left home. The kids LOVED making their own hot chocolate with the tub of powered hot coco I brought.
The real winner was the apple cider I heated with cinnamon sticks in a vintage/thrifted coffee percolator. I had some adult options to spice it up even more: whiskey and apple schnaps. I also had ingredients for an Apple Cider Fizz from Kitchen Confidence, minus the pumpkin. The cider, vanilla vodka and ginger beer combo was so lovely until the bees/wasps started swarming our beverages. Luckily no one got stung but I did nearly swallow a wet bug at one point. Hey!
