I’d like to say out first game as MN CY FAM was nothing short of amazing, but there were definitely some things we had to learn as new bus owners! First, what fits in the bus also has to fit in the car you drive to get to the bus!

Easier said than done. Good job Dave! Filling up at the gas station for the first time was also a shocking adventure.

Let’s just say we’re glad we found a space in Ames to store the bus so we’re not driving it sooo far every weekend.

Because it had been raining all week, our assigned parking spot was a little soggy. We got redirected to the lots at the FAR north of the stadium. Out set up nestled between Hilton and Stephens made for a glorious, hot humid tailgate and we had so much fun!

The cheer squad stopped by selling their $10 T-Shirts. We’ll see how long it takes for the XS to fit E. My sister is a senior on campus this fall and it’s so great to have her friends stop by. They were so sweet to take our pup Di to a nearby apartment during the game! After a day of sweaty fun, we headed into the game to watch the team rush in from the hillside. By the time we got to our seats, we caught the end of a run into the end zone before it started to rain—and more importantly—lightning. After several announced 30-minute delays, we decided to depart. It was only after we were gone for a solid hour before we learned the game was finally cancelled. Not the best start to the season, but boy are we glad we have more games ahead of us at Jack Trice!

Also, we learned the bus was leaking from the top-front egress window. So back to the farm for repairs we went!
